For the first time in South Asia, RETRACE Hospitality secured the rights for cinematic screening of the film The Last Tourist. Teaming up with Good Life X (Pvt) Ltd. and Sustainable Sri Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., the film was screened for a high profile audience including Sri Lanka’s Presidential Secretariat, chairpersons of various Government agencies including Coastal Conservation, Wildlife Protection, Cultural Affairs and key private sector stakeholders including the media, hoteliers, tour operators, investor-developers, contractor-builders and marketers.

The objective of the screening was to influence policy makers and senior advisors to the President of Sri Lanka about a more values-based, quality-driven national tourism strategy that benefits economies, communities and ecosystems.

The invite-only screening took place at the PVR Cinemas in Colombo in December 2023, ahead of the traditional high tourist season.
