RETRACE Hospitality advocates for a regenerative approach to hospitality development and operations. Regenerative businesses draw parallels with circular systems, hence our membership with the global Circular Economy Club (CEC).

CEC is the world’s largest network of circular economy experts, practitioners and organisations, with over 7000 members across 280 chapters in 140 countries. As a CEC member, we gain access to invaluable cross-sector resources and global expertise on circular best practices.

CEC enables us to draw inspiration for regenerative hospitality from visionaries and thought-leaders who pave the way for a thriving circular economy.

Why Circular Economy?

Modern economies, both developed and developing, are largely built on linear models of trade and growth. Linear economic models typically rely on:

1) Taking (extracting and often depleting);

2) Making (manufacturing, processing and producing);

3) Wasting (discarding)

Such resource-extractive and resource-intensive economic activity is detrimental to people and our planet. Most economies encourage increased, faster consumption, resulting in more rapid accumulation and larger volumes of waste. A linear economy is not future-proof. Compounded with rapid population growth, resource depletion and growing pollution, linear economies pose unforeseen threats to our future. By transitioning to a circular or regenerative economy, individuals and organisations can protect and promote the health of people and the planet by designing out waste from our world. Circular economic principals are cost-effective and practical:

1) Eliminate waste;

2) Circulate resources;

3) Regenerate nature and mankind

RETRACE Hospitality and circular economy

RETRACE Hospitality actively promotes and engages in the integration of circular practices across the entire hospitality and real estate value chain. From initial conceptualisation of a project to site search and acquisition, development, investment through till operations and asset management, we employ best-in-class circular principals pairing time-tested traditions with modern, science-based innovations. Whether it be experience-design, sourcing, supply chain management, utilities, menu-planning, waste handling or employee training, RETRACE Hospitality collaborates with local businesses that thrive on circular models.

Circular Economy Club’s Mission

CEC envisions a new era where all cities worldwide function through a circular model, setting the end of an age of waste.

About CEC

CEC was established by Anna Tari in 2012, when she realised there were a number of circular enthusiasts lacking a platform to play their part in implementing a circular economy. CEC was set up to bridge this gap by establishing a platform for the circular economy community, to come together and try our best to end the age of waste at a local and global level, simultaneously.

 CEC brings the circular economy to cities worldwide by building strong local clubs who design, implement and support circular local initiatives.

CEC is the non-profit arm of the Circular Economy Institute (CEI), which offers the highest designations in the circular economy field.
